Oh, and Christmas turned out to kind of a downer as predicted, but at least there was booze.
Anddd~ so begins my actual painting of my thesis. I got gessobord that was wayyy too smooth (and sadly, 5/8 came damaged at the corners) and I noticed this when I laid down some flat colors.
My instructor suggested I buy Grumbacher painting medium #1 and mix it with a tsp of this cobalt dryer. Unfortunately I only found Copal painting medium since the other one on the shelf was #3. I only bought a small one in case it doesn't work out but this mixture is meant to speed up drying time.
I've never worked with any other painting solevent; it was always just liquin + paint. But my instructor is a professional at oil paint, and I should take her advice no?
This is how it looks. More to come of course. I'm meant to finish two more by the end of the holidays, eeek! I hate how slanted the lines are ):
I guess it's okay for me to talk about music too. As you know, I prefer music that is meant to be headbanged violently to. And while I do work better in silence I sometimes allow myself some music that is pleasant to the ears, yet I can hold back dancing to it.
I've been listening to Kagrra, and it brings back many memories. I never listened to them on a crazy amount, I guess it's that traditional Japanese folk element that's incorporated into modern rock is why I found their music relaxing and uplifting at the same time.
One of my very first songs by them, thankfully not in potato quality
In their older days, they'd go all out and dance in CGI fields in kimonos with plenty of flowers flying around... it's still V系 after all!
I remembered I was upset about their disbandment but I felt extreme guilt that I didn't really follow up with them until their vocalist 一志 passed away last July. He was genuinely talented and had a very unique voice. I will be honest and say that I feel relieved that he and the band's music are still dear to many.
My current favorite.
Anyways, those are my feelings on Kagrra, in a nutshell. Their music is fantastic and I guess I'll always like them because of that.
I can't believe you only used the pills twice... I was so angry when I got my teeth taken out. I wanna seeeee youuuur compleeeetteee thesis :)))
ReplyDeleteI'm still being encouraged to use them though XD The real pain for me is my fatass stomach refusing to take any more liquidy food; it feels like it's trying to digest itself without any solids!
DeleteYeecch, thesis X__x I'm behind again!
We can hang out whenever you're back to your full functionality baby ;) And try using a blender for thicker foods (like fruits not meat stuff cause that would be gross). Jamba juice at home!!!
